Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Tom Tickner Joins Woolpert to Support Federal Clients and Projects

Tickner will oversee the firm's federal growth strategy.

DAYTON, Ohio, Oct. 2, 2024 Woolpert has hired Managing Director of Federal Services Tom Tickner to help lead the firm's federal growth strategy and business operations. Tickner, a retired U.S. Army major general, brings over 30 years of federal government experience.

Before joining Woolpert, Tickner worked for more than two decades and held multiple leadership roles with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Most recently, Ticker served as chief legislative liaison for the Office of the Secretary of the Army, where he led the formulation, coordination, and execution of the Army's congressional policy and strategy. This role included helping to secure the $95 billion national security supplemental package that was passed earlier this year.

During his career with the USACE, Tickner served as commanding general for both the North Atlantic and Pacific Ocean Divisions in addition to commanding both the Philadelphia and Savannah Districts. He later served as deputy commanding general for the U.S. Army Installation Management Command.

Tickner earned a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Colorado and has been an active member of the Society of American Military Engineers for over 35 years.
