The Tech Interactive Welcomes Three New Board Members to Help Shape the Future of STEAM Learning
Courtney Blum, Greg Brown and Amit Walia Bring Bold Ideas and Deep Expertise to The Tech Interactive, Silicon Valley's Leading Science Center
SAN JOSE, Calif. , May 27, 2025 The Tech Interactive, Silicon Valley's premier science and technology center, is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Greg Brown, Amit Walia, and Courtney Blum. These visionary leaders bring deep expertise across education, technology, and business—and will play a key role in guiding The Tech as it evolves to meet the growing demand for inclusive, future-focused STEAM learning experiences.
Courtney Blum is a Partner at PwC and the team lead for PwC's Bay Area Technology, Media, and Telecommunications audit practice. A longtime supporter of The Tech, Courtney has served on the Tech Challenge Executive Committee and the STEM Inclusion Taskforce. With a background in emerging technologies, accounting, and financial systems, she is also a champion for women in tech and continuous learning.

Greg Brown is the founder of The Tech Challenge, The Tech Interactive's signature engineering design competition that has inspired more than 100,000 students over the past 38 years. Greg remains actively involved in the program, which continues to thrive, both locally and now globally in Kenya, as the flagship initiative of the organization. A Stanford-trained design thinker and licensed Professional Engineer, Greg brings a human-centered approach to learning and has spent his career leading innovation training, developing hands-on curriculum, and supporting education-focused organizations.

Amit Walia is the Chief Executive Officer of Informatica, a global leader in enterprise AI-powered cloud data management. Since taking the helm in 2020, Amit has led the company through a period of bold innovation and global expansion, including a major IPO and the launch of CLAIRE, the industry's first AI-powered data platform. His expertise will help shape The Tech's approach to AI education and emerging technologies.
